Today, I will be taking you on a journey through the brilliant musical aspirations of indie artists such as Mumford and Sons, Johnny Flynn, Gotye, and Laura Marling.

This first song is called The Banjolin Song and it is performed by Mumford and Sons and Johnny Flynn. It is a fairly long song, but well worth the wait. The soulfulness of Marcus Mumford’s voice is captivating and the musical capabilities of the other members are brilliant. ENJOY!

This next song is called Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye. The music video is really interesting and the background music is very catchy. My favorite part everr is the chorus at 1:34. It gives me the chills.

The last song that I will present is by Laura Marling. Laura Marling is a brilliant artist. I don’t know why she is not more popular. There are really no words to truly describe her musical genius, so I will just leave you with the video. Watch it.

Oh yeah, and did I mention that MARCUS MUMFORD is playing the drums in this version? He is such a sexy man.

Life is Beautiful

Today, one of my classmates passed away in a car accident. I say this bluntly but it is only because I don’t quite know how else to approach the subject. This experience has reminded me that life is a truly beautiful thing. I am so blessed to have family and friends that support and encourage me and I am thankful to be alive and healthy. I have been reminded that I need to stay focused on this journey of life. We all stray from the path at points in our lives; we get distracted by the materialistic and egotistic aspects of the 21st century. We have to constantly be reminded that we are not invincible. We are merely human spirits trapped in a perishable body. We will be alive for roughly 100 years and in these 100 years we must learn what life is and what is truly important to us. In retrospection, I don’t want to realize that I wasted my life on trivial things like money or egos; I want to look back and remember all the joy, suffering, laughter, sorrow, beauty, excitement and experiences that this world has to offer. I don’t believe that there is a recipe for life, I simply believe that we need to make the most of the opportunities we are given and try our best to conduct ourselves with as much self-respect and compassion as we possibly can.

Hello.

I have not been on my blog since 2010. Or something like that. I have lost track of all time because I am currently a Junior. And Junior year is known to be the hardest year of high school. Since Junior year is almost coming to a close (3 weeks!! ) I will post a series of celebratory pictures of hot guys celebrating. First up is Christiano Ronaldo.

Strains, Pains & Rebels

Yesterday I pulled a muscle in my leg when we were doing sprints in practice. I was sent to the trainer to get some ice and she told me to come back today to get it stretched out and wrapped up. Today I decided not to go. I’m a rebel.

Embarrassing Moment #4918246126874

I have done things that are rediculously embarrassing in my lifetime. Like the time when I tripped in front of like 100 people. Or when I laugh so hard that I start crying and my makeup starts to smear down my face and I look like a creepy demented clown.

So today was a day that contributed to my many embarrassing moments. Iwas in Rite Aid with my sister and we were waiting to get some ice cream. We were waiting for about a minute when I started looking at these cars next to the ice cream counter. Another 30 seconds went by when I said “excuse mee we need some help over here” really loudly because I was getting a little impatient. Right at that moment, a worker responded by saying “yes, what would you like?”

It turns out, while I was preoccupied looking at the cars, an employee had come out to help us and heard me exclaiming that rude comment. This was definitely not one of my all-time most embarrassing moments, but I thought it was sort of funny so i wanted to share with you guys. Hope everyone had a better day than I did!

Hi everybody. I can’t believe that I am still getting views everyday even though I havn’t updated this since Thanksgiving. That is rediculous. I will leave you guys with some amazing music that I just found.

This is a song that is just so amazing I cannot describe it. It’s so catchy. I think this would fall under the category of “Indie”? But I am not quite sure.

This one is a song featuring Kid Cudi, so you know that it will be good. The music video is a little strange. But the song is still amazingg. I love the violins and stuff in the background. (Yeah that was vague.)

My friend Margaret found this song and I have been hooked to this band ever since. This song is Indie. It’s really chill and easy to listen to.

What are you thankful for?

I’m thankful for for my family, friends, this world, the ocean, sports, grass, birds, kleenex, food, turkey, cranberry sauce, teams, lights, Thomas Edison, our founding fathers, humans, dogs, water, shorts, AP classes, teachers, students, pedestrians, bags, flashcards, shorts and the list could go on and on and on and on.

To sum it up, I’m thankful for everything in this world. <3

AMAs Recap. Even Though I Didn’t Watch It

My boy Justin Bieber won 4 awards at the AMAs last night. I did not watch it because I was too busy studying for Biology 2 AP (impressive right?) but I heard from many people today that he was a major success. I’m so proud of him.

It was a night to celebrate the musical arts, marked with flashy performances and the very first time that the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block took to the stage as one huge group. Taylor Swift graced the stage with her performance, while the Black Eyed Peas came to rock the house.
